About Language Data Licensing
A small desk reading the catalogue, pricing and contributor pages of speech and text data sellers, and answering people who hold language corpora.
The reason for this site
A language corpus is priced in hours, datasets or access plans depending on who is selling, and few sellers put the figure in public.
Meant for
Researchers, community groups, broadcasters and companies holding recorded speech or text in a language, especially one with little data published.
On these pages
A quote form built around one question, "language data for ai",, usable on the page without an account; 4 supporting guides; cited figures (the table and its method) and every source those figures come from.
- Speech data licensing price: what sellers publish: The prices speech data sellers and marketplaces publish, per plan or per dataset, quoted from their pages or announcements, dated.
- Sell voice data: consent first, then a buyer: What a holder of voice recordings settles before licensing them for AI training: the speakers' consent, the described use, and which sellers pay contributors.
- Speech dataset price by seller: each published figure and its unit: The speech dataset prices sellers publish, one-off per dataset, per corpus for non-members or per plan of hours, each with its unit and whether it names a language.
- Sell books to AI companies: what a book earns per title: What a book earns when it goes into AI training data: the HarperCollins fee per title, the Bartz v. Anthropic award per work, and the author and publisher split.
Limits
- We take no recordings forward without the speakers' written consent to the use.
- We never hold or resell a corpus ourselves.
- No seller or marketplace pays for its row.
